The Secret Life of Immigrants
—
The Secret Life of Immigrants is a masterful spoken word and visual collaboration between writer Nikesh Shukla and Nimer Rashed. In four live short stories, Shukla explores the nature of immigration, nationalism, Britishness and the BNP. Using comedy, stories and an array of characters, from racist immigrants to BNP members, he provides a scathing look at our relationships with immigrants, with ourselves and with nationalism.
Nikesh Shukla is the resident poet for BBC Asian Network and his debut novel, Coconut Unlimited, was shortlisted for the Costa First Book Award.
